(VOVWORLD) -Hamas has released the first three Israeli female hostages after the Gaza ceasefire took effect on Sunday, January 19.
The hostages, who were received by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at Saraya Square in Gaza city, were returned to Israel and reunited with their families after the hospital had confirmed their good health condition, reported Israeli media.
In the Ramallah town of the West Bank, ICRC teams will receive 90 Palestinian prisoners released in the first batch, including 69 women and 21 teenagers.
The Israel Prison Service said it was taking measures to prevent any “public displays of joy” when Palestinian prisoners are released as part of the ceasefire deal.
Egyptian media reported on Sunday that at least 330 humanitarian aid trucks, including 20 fuel trucks, have traveled from the Rafah border crossing on the Egyptian side to the Kerem Shalom and Al-Ouga border crossings to enter Gaza.
