Israel, Palestine conduct 2nd round of peace talks

Israeli and Palestinian negotiators on Wednesday conducted their second round of talks in Jerusalem seeking to reach a peace agreement on the next 9 months.

An Israeli official said there will be another meeting in the West Bank in the near future. According to US Secretary of State John Kerry, the content of the meeting was not announced but the most important task is to resolve security and border issues. Once these issues are resolved, settlement areas will no longer be such a conundrum. The same day, Hamas reiterated its objection to the negotiations on the grounds that Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian negotiators have no authority negotiate away Palestinians’ rights.
