Japan, US to boost cooperation in the face of North Korean threat
(VOVWORLD) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday spoke with US President Donald Trump by phone and said that in face of an “escalating” situation with North Korea that close cooperation between their countries and South Korea was needed.

Trump reaffirmed its importance and noted that he looks forward to continued trilateral coordination on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. The same day, the Korean Central News Agency announced that the country developed a hydrogen bomb that can be loaded onto an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICMB).
