Japan, US underscore importance of alliance for Indo-Pacific peace, stability
(VOVWORLD) -As the Indo-Pacific security environment grows more complex, exchanging views on peace and stability in the region is vital for bilateral defense cooperation and future joint initiatives, Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi told commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command Admiral Samuel Paparo during his visit to Hawaii on Tuesday.

Admiral Paparo said the Japan-US alliance is important for stability in the Indo-Pacific and globally, welcoming Japan’s innovative defense capability strategy and pledging US support. Both sides discussed Indo-Pacific security and agreed the alliance is more important than ever for regional peace and stability.
