Japan wants to resume negotiations with North Korea

(VNA) - Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda says he hopes his government will be able to conduct negotiations with North Korea on a number of long-simmering issues. Noda has pledged his utmost effort to resolve North Korea's nuclear and missile development issues and the kidnapping of Japanese citizens using the Pyongyang Declaration and improved bilateral ties. Noda said this at a ceremony commemorating the signing of the Pyongyang Declaration normalizing diplomatic relations between the two countries during Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi’s visit to North Korea 10 years ago.
