He said Vietnam should shift from a growth model based mainly on FDI and exports to one centered on productivity, technology, and domestic enterprise capacity to improve its position in regional and global value chains.

Amid intensifying competition among major powers, Vietnam should strengthen supply chain resilience in key sectors such as industry, energy, food, and technology, while maintaining openness and enhancing strategic autonomy.

Professor Park also predicted a more proactive and strategic foreign policy approach, moving beyond balance among major powers toward a sector-based cooperation strategy.

In this context, South Korea is expected to remain a key partner, with bilateral cooperation expanding into supply chain stability, technology transfer, and high-quality workforce training.
