The two leaders met on the sidelines of the 11th ministerial meeting of the Arctic Council. Lavrov said the US understands that there is no military option in Venezuela, as it would have disastrous consequences. He said President Putin might meet President Trump in the near future.

Pompeo said that although Russia and the US have different interest, they both want to improve their relationship.
