Leaders of France, Egypt, Jordan call for Gaza ceasefire
(VOVWORLD) -France, Egypt, and Jordan are urging the international community to act quickly for an immediate ceasefire, restart and uphold a truce, and ensure ongoing humanitarian aid to help Gaza’s suffering civilians, said a joint statement released on Monday at a trilateral summit in Cairo to address the escalating humanitarian and security crisis in Gaza.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II, in a joint phone call with US President Donald Trump, urged stronger international efforts to restore peace and security in the region and advance a two-state solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict.
Thousands of Israelis took to the streets on Monday night, urging their government to secure a new ceasefire and reach a hostage exchange agreement with Hamas.
Israel has dramatically expanded its footprint in the Gaza Strip since relaunching its war against Hamas last month. After 20 days of renewed large-scale attacks on Gaza, the Israeli army now controls over 50% of the territory and is squeezing Palestinians into shrinking wedges of land. The areas under Israeli control are primarily near the borders—along both the Gaza-Israel frontier and the Gaza-Egypt Sinai border.
