Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang named Supreme Patriarch of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha
(VOVWORLD) - Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang was named the Supreme Patriarch of the Patronage Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) at the 9th National Buddhist Congress which concluded in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon will continue to serve as Chairman of the VBS's Executive Council for the 2022-2027 term.
Delegates discussed the implementation of 12 targets and programs, focusing on tightening the Sangha's rules in line with the responsibilities of Buddhist dignitaries and followers.
The congress called on monks, nuns, and followers at home and abroad to practice Buddha's teachings and uphold the slogan of "Discipline - Responsibility - Solidarity - Development" to build the VBS which grows stronger in the hearts of the nation.
