(VOVworld) - Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee and Thailand’s EGAT International Company (EGATi) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in building a thermal power plant in the province.

The Vietnamese government has approved EGATi as the project investor and developer. The 1,200MW thermal power plant will be built at a cost of 2.26 billion USD on an area of 450 ha in Hai Lang district. Once operational, the plant will generate 7.25 billion kWh of commercial electricity. Under the MoU, both sides agreed to work closely in implementing the project.
