(VOVworld) – Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi began an official visit to China on Wednesday, her first ever Chinese visit since Myanmar’s new government, led by her National League for Democracy Party, came to power in April.

During the five-day trip, Suu Kyi will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang regarding Myanmar’s peace progress, the China-invested Myitsone hydro power plant which has been shut down since 2011, and ways to bolster two-way trade and investment.
