(VOVWORLD) -The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at various levels for the 2026-2031 term, held on March 15, was very successful, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said and called the event a great festival for the entire nation.

Mr. Man, who is also Chairman of the National Election Council, on Saturday presided over the Council’s 5th session, where he said the election ensures democracy, equality, legality, and safety. It was one of the largest and highest in demands ever, the top legislator said, the election had the highest voter turnout ever with no re-elections in any constituencies. The number of elected National Assembly deputies is 500 as required.

“The most important thing is that voters nationwide enthusiastically and excitedly went to the polls in large numbers, voting correctly and completely, choosing worthy individuals with sufficient virtue, talent, affection, and vision to be elected as National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels,” the top legislator said.
“Through Party General Secretary To Lam's article, it is hoped that the representatives will fulfill their mission and keep their promises to voters and the people. Being elected, they must contribute to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils to implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, as well as the 2026-2030 five-year socio-economic development plan, while simultaneously achieving double-digit growth, stabilizing the macroeconomy, curbing inflation, and protecting social security.”
The General Secretary, the entire Party, army, and people have high expectations of the elected deputies, Chairman Man said.
Also at the meeting, the National Election Council voted to approve the election summary minutes and the resolution announcing the election results.
