(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung met with female parliamentarians from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam and ambassadors and chief representatives of international organizations in Vietnam on Saturday.

The meeting was to mark International Women’s Day and the upcoming 132^nd General Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU 132). Mr. Hung conveyed his congratulations and praised their contributions to Vietnam’s cooperation with the world community. He said that Vietnam’s consistent policy is to support efforts to build an equal society to all, adding that IPU 132 will be an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce its land, people, and culture as well as its goal to ensure gender equality. Mr. Hung said he hopes the female parliamentarians will continue contributing to the goal of social equality and progress in the world.
