National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung met with voters in the northern island district of Bach Long Vi on Tuesday. He congratulated the district party committee, people and army for their unity to overcome challenges for island construction and defence. Chairman Hung urged for further efforts to develop the border islands and safeguard the fatherland’s northern region. He added detailed plans should be worked out: “The islands should uphold its staunch spirit and heroic tradition as Bach Long Vi is located in the nation’s frontline. Local economy need to be further developed by providing seafood and oil and gas services and engaging in aquaculture. Efforts should be made to build the culture-rich islands”.

NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung visited 952 regiment of the Navy and met with military personnel at border guard station 58.  He praised local army for their efforts to defend the nation and assist people in socio-economic development.

Later the same day, Chairman Hung visited Hai Phong city’s People Committee and called on municipal authorities to take initiatives to further develop the port city.
