In his remarks at the first Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee, 2025-2030 term, the top legislator stressed the need strongly develop tourism, promote the Can Tho’s hallmark as "river city", and capitalize on river and canal characteristics to  become an international destination.

Chairman Man requested Can Tho City to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint that “cadres are the root of all work”, cadre work is “the key of the key”. Select and arrange the right cadres for the right job, with enough virtue and talent; focus on training to improve the quality of the scientific and technical staff, creating a pool of young cadres, he said. The NA Chairman called for preventing and fighting against corruption, waste and negativity with higher determination and stronger actions.

The Congress participants listened to and witnessed the hand over of the Politburo’s decisions on personnel work. The Politburo decided that Mr. Do Thanh Binh will no longer be a member of the Executive Committee and Standing Board, and  Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. He was appointed Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission and Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

The Politburo appointed Mr. Le Quang Tung, General Secretary and Head of the National Assembly Office, to be a member of the Executive Committee and Standing Board, and Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee.
