The law was publicized to collect people’s opinions before being submitted to the NA for approval and is said to do a good job of closing loopholes useful for corruption. Deputies said anti-corruption should be implemented democratically, publicly, and transparently. Thus the revision focuses on modifying and supplementing regulations on public asset declaration, scopes of declaration, and income of carders, party members, and state servants.

Another important point in the revision is to change the model of the anti-corruption steering committee, clarify the relations between the committee and relevant state agencies, and expand people’s supervisory role. Vu Xuan Truong is a deputy from Nam Dinh province ‘I agree with the revisions in the draft law saying that the steering committee will belong to the Politburo, and Internal Affairs Commissions at various levels. The enforcement agencies include the government inspectorate, State Audit, the anti-corruption departments of the Ministries of Public Security and Defense, and the People’s Procuracy. Although conclusions made by the Government Inspectorate and State Audit have been made public, they haven’t been sent to the anti-corruption agencies. I propose the Government Inspectorate and State Audit send their conclusions after each inspection to the steering committee and relevant agencies.
