National campaign launched to fight child virus

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked healthcare centres and administrators at all levels to work harder to control outbreaks of hand-foot-mouth disease. At a launch of a national campaign to fight the disease in Hai Phong city on Friday, Mr. Phuc said improving knowledge for healthcare workers and those working in child care to diagnosis the disease in its early stages was also necessary. In March and April the campaign will focus on households, mothers and carers of children under five years old, with measures set to be applied to curb the disease at schools and kindergartens. Deputy Director of the Preventive Medicine Administration under the Ministry of Health, Phan Trong Lan said: "The campaign aims to mobilize authorities, organizations and people to fight against the hand-foot-mouth disease. Communication should be enhanced. The Ministry of Health will set up 3 working teams and work closely with the education  and communication sectors".
