(VOVWORLD) - The National Tourism Year - Hue 2025, themed "Hue – TheAncient Capital, New Opportunities," will open on Tuesday evening at a floating stage on the Huong River in Hue City.

The opening ceremony titled "The River’s Serenade," will feature cultural heritages and historical events of the former capital city and the transformation to Hue’s modern-day today. The program will take the audience on a journey through Vietnam’s famous rivers and the cultures of different regions, conveying a message of national integration, development, and progress in a new era.
People’s Artist Nguyen Minh Thong, General Director of the opening ceremony, said: “The National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 highlights the Huong River as its central motif. The river has long been a witness to Hue’s history from the former imperial capital to the city’s liberation 50 years ago. Beyond celebrating Hue’s heritages, the program also embraces Vietnam’s cultural essence and its connection to the world. The event features renowned artists and singers, including Ploong Thiet, Meritorious Artist Van Khanh, artist Minh Hai, and winners of the prestigious Sao Mai national singing competition.”
The Hue National Tourism Year 2025 will feature over 160 events, which are expected to attract approximately 5.5 million visitors to Hue.
