Chairman Man, who heads the National Election Council, presided over NEC's fourth meeting in Hanoi on Monday.

“The highlights of the election preparations, from the initial stages to the present, are the unified efforts from the central to local levels. Progress has been rapid and thorough, especially in finalizing documents, developing organizational plans, and drafting resolutions on electoral units. Personnel matters have been dealt with early, carefully, and according to proper procedures – a significant new development compared to the previous election. Security measures have been prepared proactively,” Mr. Man said.

At the meeting, the NEC commented on the progress report on election preparation since its third meeting, some future key tasks, and the plan for monitoring and inspecting election work.

The NEC approved the draft resolution on the number of electoral units, the list of electoral units, and the number of National Assembly deputies to be elected in each electoral unit of the provinces and cities. It also passed the draft resolution on the principles of allocating candidates from the central level to the localities to run for election as deputies to the 16th National Assembly.
