(VOVworld) - The death toll in the Nepal earthquake has reached 5057 and the number of injured people is now over 11 thousands.

Nepal government declared three days of national mourning in memory of the Nepalis and foreign people who lost their lives in the recent devastating earthquake. Rescuers are still struggling to bring aid to remote Himalayan areas. Heavy rain is worsening the plight of hundreds of thousands of people camped out in the open. Helicopters have been dropping tents, dry food and medicine to remote villages but they were yet to reach many isolated communities.

UN Organizations are now trying to deliver aid to the survivals in Nepal. With a population of 8 million people, more than one fourth of Nepali people have been affected by the earthquake.
