New Italian government wins a confidence vote in the Senate

(VOVworld) – The government of newly-appointed Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni cleared a Senate confidence vote on Wednesday, a vote that was a boycotted by opposition parties, including the Northern League and the Five Star Movement.

Gentiloni won a confidence vote in the lower house on Tuesday. The two votes allow his government to formally take office.
