North Korea criticizes US for lifting missile restrictions on South Korea

(VOVWORLD) - The North Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) on Monday criticized the recent termination of a pact between the US and South Korea that capped the development of South Korea's ballistic missiles.

KCNA writer Kim Myong Chol called the termination a stark reminder of the US hostile policy toward the DPRK. His article condemned the US for allowing its allies to limitlessly develop their missiles while calling North Korea’s defense efforts a violation of UN resolutions.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in announced the abolishment of the joint missile guidelines that limited South Korea's development of ballistic missiles to a range of 800 km following his first summit with US President Joe Biden at the White House earlier this month.
