The drill involved artillery force and islet guard forces and took place at Mu and Jangjae islets, the hotspot in the battlefield in the Southwest. The drill focused on training attack tactics in preparation for a war against provoking acts by the US. The drill came as tensions grow ahead of an annual US-South Korea joint Key Resolve/Foal Eagle military exercise that is reportedly to start early next month.
