(VOVworld) – The latest CNN/ORC poll shows President Barack Obama’s approval rating has reached its highest level since just before his second inauguration in 2013.

54% of Americans said they support Obama, following a successful Democratic National Convention in July, up from 50% in the days following the Republican convention.

The record high percentage of Americans who approve of Obama's mainly due to a 9% increase of approval among voters under 45 and independent voters. Support among voters over 45 fell 1%.

Observers say Obama’s improved approval rating and his criticism of Republican nominee Donald Trump could help Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton win the presidential election in November.
