Online conference celebrates India’s Independence Day

(VOVWORLD) - The Indian Embassy in Hanoi on Thursday organized a webinar on the theme “India At 75” as part of its year-long commemoration of India’s 75th year of Independence on August 15. The event also marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of India-Vietnam diplomatic relations (1972-2022).

Speakers at the event shared their thoughts about India’s development journey and discussed ways to strengthen the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and its contributions to peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.

Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma, who chaired the webinar, said, “75 years is an important milestone to India and its people. After 75 years, India has become a major modern economy in the world which has flexibility, achievements, and aspirations as well.” The Ambassador added that Vietnam is one of its important partners. The 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties will be an occasion for India and Vietnam to reaffirm their commitment to take their comprehensive strategic partnership to a new height.

At the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung congratulated India for its extraordinary socio-economic achievements in its 75-year history and proposed ways to tighten links in the post-pandemic and in the 4th Industrial Revolution.
