The awardees are heads of agricultural cooperatives and enterprises and others who develop farming, breeding, or local development models.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung addressed the ceremony: “The award encourages young people to  innovate in production and business and to boost scientific research and application of technological advances to agriculture, forestry, and fishery production. It also aims to promote organic agriculture.”

The annual Luong Dinh Cua Awards, named after one of Vietnam’s most famous agronomists, are given by the Vietnam Youth Union to young people in rural areas with outstanding achievements in production, business, application of modern technology, environmental protection, and new rural lifestyle building.
