Over 100,000 of them were replaced by new houses and construction was started on the rest.

34,700 poor and near-poor households still live in substandard houses that need to be replaced.

The program has been accelerated in Ho Chi Minh City. On the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30), the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front and coordinating units have allocated 1 million USD to repair or replace the houses of 323 poor or near-poor households or households in difficult circumstances.
