(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese General Association and the Vietnam-Belgium Alliance held a get-together in Brussels, Belgium, on Saturday to celebrate the lunar New Year festival of 2016.

In his address, Chairman of the Vietnamese General Association, Huynh Cong My, highlighted the significance of the event which serves as a venue for overseas Vietnamese in Belgium to gather and celebrate the New Year together. Belgium's state secretary for migration, Theo Francken, hailed the overseas Vietnamese’s contributions to Belgium’s economic development over the past years and voiced his hope that the Vietnamese community will promote their traditional values and better integrate into the local community.
