He urged the armed forces of Binh Duong to continue to consolidate a national defense posture coupled with a people's security posture, and build an increasingly solid provincial defense zone. It’s necessary to step up training, combat readiness, and improve coordination between forces in the province and with neighboring localities, maintain security and order, and create favorable conditions for socio-economic development.

General Secretary Lam also requested that the provincial armed forces be more closely connected with the people, proactively support people in economic development, stabilize their lives, especially in emergency situations, build a contingent of officers and soldiers with strong political will, and excellently accomplish all assigned tasks.

On this occasion, the Party leader presented gifts to encourage officers, soldiers and employees working at the Binh Duong Provincial Military Command. Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang presented gifts to the Binh Duong Provincial Armed Forces.

Earlier on Sunday, General Secretary Lam visited and wished former President Nguyen Minh Triet a Happy New Year at his residence in Binh Duong province.
