(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met revolutionary veterans, leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi on Monday. Trong attributed Vietnam’s 2013 achievements to tremendous efforts by the Vietnamese people both in and outside the country under the leadership of the Party and management of the State.

The Party leader outlined next year’s tasks: “In 2014 the whole Party, people and army need to fulfill the tasks of stabilizing the macro-economy, controlling inflation, ensuring social securities and welfare and improving people’s living standards. Drastic changes should be made in the building of Party, State, Fatherland Front and mass organizations. We should effectively implement the Party Central Committee’s Resolution on Party Building and follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. The fight against corruption should make good progress and the national unity should be promoted. Preparations should be made for the 12th National Party Congress. To achieve these targets, the Party, people and army need to remain united and promote patriotism, will and wisdom to build a more prosperous country and happy people”.

Also on Monday, the Party leader paid a pre-Tet visit to employees at the Party Central Committee’s Office.
