(VOVWORLD) - Effective implementation of the 14th National Party Congress resolution is pivotal for realizing the goals marking 100 years since the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2030 and the centenary of the nation in 2045, Party General Secretary To Lam said during a visit to Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet).

Mr. Lam delivered Tet greetings to the municipal Party Committee, administration, and people and said Ho Chi Minh City should continue to affirm its role as the nation’s leading economic engine, pioneering new paths, setting examples, and serving as a locality the central authorities can confidently entrust with major tasks.
Party General Secretary To Lam called on the city to effectively implement the Congress’s resolution, the Politburo’s strategic resolutions, and the resolution of the municipal Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, and translate them into concrete action programs with clearly defined tasks, responsibilities, and timelines.

“Priority should also be given to successfully organizing elections for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels, ensuring democracy, safety, and strict compliance with the law,” he said.
General Secretary Lam called on Ho Chi Minh City to make breakthroughs in institutions, infrastructure, and human resources; renew its growth model; effectively leverage mechanisms and policies; and develop financial, logistics, and innovation centers of international stature.
