Addressing Thursday’s online conference to announce and implement the Government resolution on policies and directions to remove obstacles for renewable energy projects, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the economic growth index will drive the total GDP of the whole society, GDP per capita, and increase labor productivity and many other indicators.
He said each percentage point of GDP growth requires 1.5 percentage points of electricity growth.
Although Vietnam has drawn lessons in electricity development such as the rapid deployment of the 500 kV transmission line Circuit 3, some renewable energy projects are in slow progress.
The Prime Minister urged to accelerate the implementation of these projects in the spirit of harmonizing the interests of the State, investors, and people.
He asked localities and enterprises to invest in renewable energy projects and urgently apply measures to resolve pending issues within their authority.
