President asks for remaining steadfast with Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance
(VOVWORLD) - President Luong Cuong has praised the Foreign Ministry for its significant achievements and contributions to national development since the 13th National Party Congress.

At a meeting with the Ministry on Thursday, President Cuong said despite complex and challenging global and regional dynamics, Vietnam's foreign affairs and diplomacy have achieved substantial progress, which have bolstered the nation’s position and influence, expanded cooperative relationships with neighboring countries, regions, traditional friends, and strategic partners, and elevated Vietnam's international standing.

Looking ahead, President Luong Cuong emphasized the need to adapt to all changes with consistent strength, combining national and global strengths, remaining steadfast in strategic goals, and adopting flexible tactics to prioritize national interests.
He said: "We need to be consistent with a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification and ensure national interests. We need to skillfully combine domestic with international efforts and national capabilities with global opportunities. Particularly, it's important to remain steadfast with the strategic objectives of national independence and socialism, putting national interests above all."
As 2025 marks a critical milestone, the President called on the diplomatic sector to organize meaningful initiatives to commemorate the 80th anniversary of its establishment.
