(VOVWORLD) - Government agencies and localities need to strictly direct and follow prevention and control measures to quickly contain the COVID-19 pandemic, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in an official dispatch to Ministers and heads of government agencies on Monday.

Provinces and cities applying social distancing measures were requested to ensure sufficient food and essential services for residents, and mobilize the entire political system, religious groups, social organisations, and the business community in the pandemic effort.
Mr. Chinh said the pandemic must be curbed during this “golden time”, and the top priority is to minimize fatalities. Localities were directed to prepare adequate facilities to treat all COVID-19 patients, particularly those in serious condition.
The PM ordered “vaccine diplomacy” to be stepped up to obtain as many vaccines as possible as soon as possible, and all possible support given to vaccine research and technology transfer, vaccine production, and free, safe, and timely administration of vaccinations without discrimination toward any brand of vaccine.
The dispatch makes clear that localities must step up communications campaigns, ensure the smooth and timely delivery of essential goods, and maintain production and trade in areas where conditions allow.
