PM expresses support for Intel's continued investment in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam is willing to support businesses, including FDI corporation like Intel, to invest effectively in the country, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on Friday.

At a reception for Patrick Gelsinger, CEO of Intel Corporation, the Prime Minister congratulated Intel on its achievements in the world and in Vietnam. He suggested that Intel continue to invest in Vietnam, to expand not only production but also in-depth investment in line with the Vietnamese Government’s policy of attracting investment in high technology, clean technology, and contribute to the development of digital economic infrastructure with high-quality human resources of Vietnam.

Prime Minister Chinh asked Intel to support Vietnam in building an ecosystem of innovation, start-ups, increase labor productivity, build a basic research center for long-term development in Vietnam, and help Vietnam diversify supply chains.

Mr. Gelsinger agreed with the Prime Minister's suggestions and praised Vietnam’s industrious, innovative workforce with strong support and facilitation from the Government. Intel will continue to invest in Vietnam many times larger than the current scale, he said.
