(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has hailed Da Nang city’s crucial role and position as a key growth center of the central and Central Highlands regions and  the entire country, but said it should pursue rapid but sustainable development and ensure a balance between socio-economic, cultural, and human development.

Mr. Chinh was speaking during Sunday’s working session with the municipal authorities on local socio-economic development and national defense and security over the past eight months.

To this end, the Prime Minister urged Da Nang to lead the way, focusing on mobilizing non-state resources for infrastructure development and developing the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, knowledge-based economy, sharing economy, and nighttime economy.

He asked Da Nang to create breakthroughs in decentralization and allocation of resources and accelerate  administrative reform.

The Prime Minister suggested that Da Nang focus on implementing socio-economic development tasks and solutions in association with the development of “three centers”, namely a smart urban center for scientific and technological application and research, startups, and innovation for the entire country and Southeast Asia; a service and tourism center of Asian standards; and a center for the marine economy, logistics, and free trade zone.
