At a reception for a delegation of ASEAN BAC chairmen in Hanoi on Friday, PM Chinh suggested that the Council accompany the governments and people of ASEAN countries in building institutions and policies; boosting economic connectivity on infrastructure, particularly transport, culture - society, healthcare, education and people; mobilizing resources; and renewing traditional growth drivers and promoting new ones.

He said that he will call on ASEAN leaders to roll out preferential policies for ASEAN businesses. PM Chinh said he believes that ASEAN BAC members will promote their pioneering role to make ASEAN a leading attractive destination for investors and contribute to boosting ASEAN's rapid and sustainable development.

ASEAN BAC Chair Oudet Souvannavong and other delegation members spoke highly of Vietnam's role in building a self-reliant and cohesive ASEAN; and hailed Vietnam as a responsible member in the Greater Mekong region cooperation.

Mr. Souvannavong said the ASEAN BAC will convene the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN BIS) in Vientiane, Laos, later this year, and it hopes for support from the Vietnamese Government and the attendance of the Vietnamese Prime Minister.
