(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday checked the progress of the Long Thanh airport project in Dong Nai province, where he urged swift action to complete construction, ensure standards and quality so that the airport can receive the first flight on December 19.

During his eighth inspection tour of the Long Thanh airport, the Prime Minister checked the second runway and passenger terminal construction package.
He asked the Ministry of Construction and localities to review the transport system, ensuring the connection of expressways with economic centers, railway stations, seaports, and airports.

The Prime Minister also examined the central part of the terminal, electricity, fire prevention, air conditioning and ventilation system, water supply and drainage system, baggage scanners, passenger ramps, elevators, and the green trees.
Long Thanh international airport has a capacity of up to 100 million passengers per year. When the project's three phases are completed, it will be the largest airport in Vietnam.
