(VOVworld)- The 4^th session of National Committee for APEC year 2017 opened on Wednesday in Hanoi with 24 member agencies and cities attending. The session, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, agreed on the preparation of facilities for the year of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum or APEC year. Mr. Minh said that the first event namely the APEC Informal Senior Official Meeting will take place in 8 months’ time. He urged the ministries and branches to strengthen coordination with other member countries, particularly with Peru, the host of APEC 2016 and Papua New Guinea for  APEC 2018 as well as the APEC Secretariat to successfully organize next year’s events.

The 5^th session of the Vietnam National Committee for APEC year 2017 is expected to take place in this June.
