(VOVWORLD) - In his message marking Vietnamese Family Day, June 28, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the day honors family values and marks an important milestone for Vietnamese people in remembering their roots and loved ones, and nurturing Vietnam’s traditions and culture.

He said that during the COVID-19 pandemic, families have been a source of encouragement for frontline military and medical personnel and the donors and contributors to the nation’s related prevention and control work.
Mr. Phuc called for upholding the role of the family in nurturing and educating the younger generation.
He stressed the need to pay attention to families of people who gave meritorious service, the elderly, families in difficulties, those in remote and isolated areas, and ethnic minorities.
Mr. Phuc said he hopes every Vietnamese family and every Vietnamese person will constantly strive to build a family that multiplies joys and happiness, and nurtures the soul, personality, pride, and aspiration to contribute to the development of Vietnam.
