President urges stronger defense diplomacy to promptly safeguard nation
(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has stressed the need to promote defense and security diplomacy to safeguard the country early and from afar.

Speaking at the 1st session of the National Defence and Security Council on Tuesday, President Phuc, who is also Chairman of the Council, requested council members and agencies work closely together to ensure national defence and security, and prevent and cope with both short-term and long-term non-traditional security challenges.
He stressed the need to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against COVID-19 and promote vaccine diplomacy through different channels. Mr. Phuc also urged stronger cybersecurity and cyber warfare measures for national defense.
The State leader asked the armed forces to promote training to send more officers to UN peacekeeping missions.
