President wraps up state visit to India

(VOVWORLD) -President Tran Dai Quang and his wife concluded a 3-day state visit to India on Sunday.

On Sunday noon, while visiting Vietnamese embassy staff and Vietnamese community in India, Mr. Quang said he had open and candid talks with the Indian leaders on bilateral ties and issues of mutual concerns. Both sides agreed that the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership is flourishing with growing political trust and shared interests. President Quang said the Party and State consider overseas Vietnamese an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation and an important resource for national development. He called on Vietnamese expats to continue to promote solidarity tradition, comply with law of the host country, and work for their homeland and the Vietnam-India friendship.

On this occasion, the President conferred a Labor Order, second class, on the Vietnamese Embassy in India. 

On Sunday morning, President Quang and his wife visited the Nehru Memorial Museum and met with Indian politicians, researchers, scholars, and students. He said Vietnam and India need to strengthen economic-trade connectivity and consider it a development momentum of their comprehensive strategic partnership: “It’s important to boost marine cooperation, a key area for bilateral ties and for peace, stability, and development in Indo-Pacific and Asia. Both sides need to regularly exchange information, share experience, build capacity in dealing with marine security issues, coordinate in developing blue ocean economy through marine connectivity, cooperate in seaports, and preserve and use sustainably marine resources.”
