Mr. Yoon faces charges of colluding with then-Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun and others to rebel by declaring the martial law decree on December 3.
He is accused of abusing his power by deploying troops and police to forcibly remove lawmakers from the National Assembly so they would not be able to vote to overturn his brief martial law decree.
Yoon is being held at the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang.
The Constitutional Court of Korea is considering his impeachment over the martial law case.
