The milestone visitor was Lionel Klotz from Toronto, Canada, who received a special gift - a miniature model of the Museum carved from coal.

"I’m really happy to be here. Everywhere I go, I want to find out the history because it is very interesting,” said Klotz. “I would like to wander around the streets, go to the market, eat some traditional food.”

Along with Klotz, a group of visitors from various countries toured the Quang Ninh Museum, exploring its rich displays of flora and fauna from Ha Long Bay, as well as the history of this northeastern frontier region and the unique cultures of local ethnic groups.

This year marks the first time that the Quang Ninh Museum has welcomed 1 million visitors in a year, far exceeding last year’s figure of 760,000. Director Do Quyet Tien said the museum expects to receive 1.1 million visitors this year and aims for continued growth in 2026.

"We will continue renewing exhibitions and expanding the use of technologies such as 3D, virtual reality and digitization. In particular, we will introduce new services to enhance visitor experiences, contributing to the development of Quang Ninh’s tourism," Tien.
