(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese athletes added a series of gold medals to the country’s tally on Friday at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

The first gold of the day came from shooters Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang, who triumphed in the 10m air rifle mixed team event, also Vietnam’s first shooting gold of this year’s tournament.
In martial arts, Taekwondo fighter Bac Thi Khiem dominated the women’s 67-73 kg kyorugi category to take gold, while Karate athlete Khuat Hai Nam delivered an impressive performance to win the men’s kumite -67 kg event.
Canoeists Ma Thi Thuy and Nguyen Thi Huong added another gold after finishing first in the women’s 200m event.

Gymnast Dinh Phuong Thanh claimed gold on the parallel bars, and pétanque players secured two more in the men’s doubles and women’s doubles categories.
In the women’s 400m track and field event, Nguyen Thi Ngoc crossed the finish line first to win the gold medal.
As of Friday, Vietnam had earned 25 gold, 17 silver, and 43 bronze medals, maintaining second place in the overall standings after Thailand.
