Russia and Turkey agree on ceasefire in Syria
(VOVworld) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan discussed the Syria crisis in a phone call on Thursday.

They agreed to continue coordinating efforts to achieve a resolution in Syria. Turkey’s Anadolu news agency said Erdogan told Putin that it was essential to agree to a ceasefire in Aleppo before the Feast of the Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha) Islamic holiday which in Turkey begins around September 12. Besides a ceasefire, the two leaders also stressed the importance of fighting terrorist organizations outside of the border of Syria, especially IS.
