The move is in response to the US continuing to expand the list of Russian citizens subject to individual sanctions.

Based on reciprocity, Russia’s list is made up of 33 governors of US states, family members of some US politicians and officials involved in the planning and implementation of the policies targeting at Russia, and several federal agencies and companies involved in weapon supply to Ukraine.

The list includes governors of US states such as Jay Inslee of Washington, Michelle Lujan-Grisham of New Mexico, Laura Kelly of Kansas, Andy Beshear of Kentucky, and Michael Dunleavy of Alaska, Mrs. Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the wife of the California Governor Gavin Newsom, along with others.
