Russia says US's plan to restore Iran sanctions will fail
(VOVWORLD) - US attempts to re-impose sanctions on Iran will fail, while Moscow supports direct talks between Washington and Tehran, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

The US has lost all its rights with Iran by abandoning its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known as the Iran nuclear deal, Mr. Lavrov said. He added the US did not just say that they were renewing unilateral sanctions, but they aimed to ban all other countries from trading with Iran.
In another development, the remaining parties to the Iran nuclear deal met on Tuesday in Vienna with the participation of representatives from Britain, China, France, Germany, Iran, and Russia. They agreed to save the agreement, from which the US withdrew in 2018.
