Putin’s visit was considered a message of peace and cooperation amid tensions between Russia and the EU over the Kremlin’s role in Ukraine.
The visit is expected to create opportunities in bilateral economic cooperation. Kremlin said that the talks between the two leaders will focus on bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and culture. Slovenia is the EU’s third country Putin visited this year.
