Second “Children’s National Assembly” mock session to open this Friday

(VOVWORLD) - The second “Children’s National Assembly” mock session, scheduled in Hanoi from this Friday to Sunday, will see many new events, according to the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

According to a press briefing in Hanoi on Monday, the session will see the participation of 306 child delegates from 63 cities and provinces nationwide, focusing on preventing school violence and combating the harmful effects of drugs and stimulants, especially in schools. A Q&A session will take place at the Dien Hong Hall at the National Assembly building.

Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, secretary of the Youth Union and head of the Organizing Committee of the session, told reporters that  this year, child participants will experience more of activities of the National Assembly, and learn how the legislative body opening session takes place.

“They will participate in group discussions and a Q&A session. At the end of each Q&A session for each topic group, the Minister of Education and Training and the Minister of Health will answer their queries,” said Trang.

The "Children's National Assembly" serves as a forum where young people can express their thoughts, wishes, and dreams. It also aims to foster political awareness, inspiring children to have big aspirations and develop a strong sense of civic responsibility.

The event represents a new model that promotes children's right to participate in issues relevant to them in a manner that is appropriate to their psychology and abilities. It provides a space for children to enhance their skills, present their ideas, and engage in the decision-making process on issues directly affecting them.
